Evelyn is a one-bedroom ground-floor apartment within Calico House on Marine Drive in Looe, sleeping two. At 100m from Hannafore Beach, it is one of the closest properties to the water on this stretch of Looe's west side.

The apartment has a private enclosed patio and off-road parking. Inside, a washing machine is included, along with WiFi. The bathroom is a standard shower room. No dishwasher, so it suits guests travelling light.

Hannafore Beach itself is a rocky shore that reveals tidal pools and sand at low water, with a direct sightline to Looe Island - a nature reserve managed by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, about half a mile offshore. East Looe Beach, the wider sandy option, is 700m across the river bridge. The working fishing harbour sits between the two, with several fish restaurants within 200m of the quayside. A branch-line railway connects Looe to Liskeard, and the coast path west to Polperro - about five miles and one of the quieter stretches in south Cornwall - starts near the headland.

Best for: couples wanting a low-footprint base within walking distance of the water, Looe harbour, and the Polperro path. Less good for: dog owners (no dogs), families needing more than one bedroom, or guests relying on a dishwasher. Saturday changeover.
