Plover Cottage

Plover Cottage is a one-bedroom stone cottage in Trenale, a rural hamlet half a mile from Tintagel on the north Cornwall coast. It sleeps 2 and forms part of a small cluster of eight converted properties arranged around a landscaped courtyard.

Inside, the layout suits couples: a double bedroom, a compact living room and a self-catering kitchen. Stone walls and original features give the cottage its character. The courtyard setting is quiet, and each property has its own private outdoor space. Private parking is included.

Bossiney Cove - a secluded sandy cove with turquoise water, accessible only at low tide - is around 800 metres from the cottage. Tregardock Beach, a remote north-coast strand, lies about 3 miles away. Tintagel village is less than a 5-minute drive, with shops, pubs and the English Heritage castle ruins on the clifftop headland, reached by a footbridge that spans a 58-metre gorge. Rocky Valley, with rock-carved labyrinths thought to be over 3,000 years old, sits within easy walking distance. Boscastle's National Trust harbour is around 2.5 miles up the coast.

Best for: couples after a quiet base close to Tintagel castle and the north coast path, without the bustle of the village centre. Less good for: those needing flexible changeover days (Saturday only) or looking for more than 2 guests.
