Rosebud is a single-storey two-bedroom cottage in Portreath for four, with off-street parking, a garden and a BBQ. Set back in the village, 900m from the harbour beach, on the quieter north coast 4 miles north-west of Camborne.

Layout is on one floor: two bedrooms, one shared bathroom, a kitchen and a sitting room opening to the garden. No dogs and no hot tub at this property - the merchant feed lists no wifi either, so check directly if you need to work from the cottage. The single-storey layout makes it a sensible choice for older guests or anyone who would rather not climb stairs after a day on the coast path.

Portreath Beach is a 12-minute walk through the village - a sandy bay between two headlands, with the 18th-century tin and copper harbour wall on its eastern end and a surf school based on the sand in summer. Lifeguarded May to September. The Beach Bar sits on the slipway. The South West Coast Path runs west 3 miles to the cliff drops at Hell's Mouth and 5 miles on to Godrevy lighthouse, east 3 miles to Porthtowan. Tehidy Country Park, 250 acres of woodland and lakes, is 2 miles inland.

Best for a couple or small family wanting a low-fuss, single-storey base in a working north-coast village. Less good for dog owners, larger groups, or anyone hoping to walk straight onto sand from the door.
