Roseland Cottage

Single-storey two-bedroom barn conversion in Devoran, a village close to Carnon Downs, sleeping four. The property sits next to livery stables and looks out over grazing fields. It suits those after a quiet rural retreat, with one bathroom.

Inside, a wood-burning stove anchors the living space, and the dining area seats four. A washing machine is included. The enclosed garden has a charcoal BBQ and patio furniture. Access is on foot from the village road, so check parking and Wi-Fi with the owners before you book.

Carnon Downs sits 3 miles south of Truro on the A39, placing the cottage at a useful midpoint between Cornwall's only city and the Fal estuary. Falmouth town centre and Gyllyngvase Beach are around 5.6 miles south. Trelissick Garden, a National Trust property with woodland walks and estuary views, is under 10 minutes by car. The Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek - a 13th-century pub on the water with a pontoon terrace - is similarly close. Castle Beach and Swanpool Beach in Falmouth are both within 5.8 miles.

Best for small families or two couples wanting a rural retreat with easy access to Falmouth and the Roseland. Less good for those expecting beach walks from the door.
