Sea Lock is a ground-floor waterside apartment for four in Bude, overlooking the 19th-century Bude Canal that now carries kayaks and flat-water swimmers rather than cargo. One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other a super-king that converts to twins on request, so the second room flexes for a couple or two children. One bathroom serves both bedrooms.

Host Robert manages the booking. Parking, a garden and a dishwasher are included, but there's no Wi-Fi, washing machine or EV charging point, so this suits guests happy to go without a fixed connection and pack light. Dogs are not accepted. Prices start from £750 a night.

Summerleaze Beach, with its tidal sea pool, is 800m away, Crooklets Beach - the town's main surf beach - is 0.8 miles and Northcott Mouth is 1.7 miles from the apartment. Bude sits at the midpoint of more than 30 miles of the South West Coast Path, and the town's shops and cafes are also a short walk from the canal.
