Seagulls Nest

Seagulls Nest sits above Whitsand Bay on the Rame Peninsula, a stretch of coast that sees far fewer visitors than the north coast despite sitting just a few miles from Plymouth. The chalet sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms, all on the ground floor, with one bathroom for the two bedrooms. It is reached from the road by about 100 yards of steep cliff footpath ending in 24 steps.

Sea views come with the setting. The grassed garden is on two levels with a picnic table, so small children need watching. The washing machine and wifi are both included. A cot and highchair are available, and the nearest pub and shop are under a mile away. Kingsand and Cawsand are the nearest villages - two connected settlements with independent pubs and shops that have changed little in decades.

Whitsand Bay itself is 1.7 miles away - nearly 3.1 miles of sand backed by high cliffs, with no development on the beachfront. Cawsand Beach and Kingsand Beach are also within 1.7 miles, both better for calm-water swimming than Whitsand's exposed swell.

Best for couples or a small family who want a cliffside chalet rather than a modern development. Less good for guests needing a car on site - the Peninsula roads are narrow, and allocated parking for one car runs only from 1 April to 30 September, with layby parking at the top of the cliff path at other times. It is also not suited to anyone who cannot manage the steep path and 24 steps.
