Shellseekers

Shellseekers is a granite cottage in Marazion sleeping 4 across two bedrooms - a king with sea views to St Michael’s Mount, and a twin. The house dates from the 19th century and sits 150 metres from the sand at Marazion Beach, where the causeway to the island opens at low tide and closes as the tide comes in twice daily. The castle atop the Mount is managed by the National Trust and is open most days between spring and autumn.

The ground floor runs open-plan through a lounge, kitchen, and sunroom, all south-facing to make use of the light and the outlook. The south-facing garden backs directly onto open sea, with St Michael’s Mount filling the view to the south-west. This is the kind of setting that changes character hour by hour as the tide moves.

Marazion itself is the oldest chartered town in England - the market charter dates to 1257. The high street has independent galleries, cafes, and a pub. The South West Coast Path passes directly through the town. Perranuthnoe Beach is 1.3 miles east along the path, a quieter sandy cove. Long Rock Beach is 1.7 miles west.

Suits couples or small families wanting a combination of beach access and a coastal view. Not great for those with mobility issues on the upper floor - the bedrooms require stairs. Dogs are not accepted. Amenities include wifi, parking, and washing machine. Rated 4.9 from 16 reviews.
