Daymer Bay Beach is 2km on foot via the lanes - a sheltered, sandy estuary beach at the mouth of the Camel, popular with families and paddleboarders. Greenaway Beach, a quieter cove reached by coastal path, is 2.5km. Polzeath, with its surf hire and beach cafe, is 3km along the coast. Rock village itself is a 10-minute walk for the seasonal water taxi across the Camel to Padstow.

Rock is one of north Cornwall's better-known coastal villages - a stretch of waterfront with sailing clubs, a couple of restaurants, and the ferry point. Padstow on the opposite bank offers a wider range of eating options, the weekly market, and the coastal path south toward Trevone and Harlyn Bay. A day trip by water taxi costs around a few pounds each way.

Best for large families or two households travelling together who need 10 beds and 3 bathrooms without sacrificing outside space. The accessible ground floor is useful for mixed-ability groups. Not great for those wanting a hot tub or fire, or groups expecting to walk everywhere without a car.
