St Albans

St Albans is a two-bedroom cottage in Boscastle, sleeping 4 with 1 bathroom and an enclosed garden. Parking is included, along with Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and washing machine. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Boscastle is one of the north Cornwall coast's more unusual villages - the harbour is a narrow, winding inlet between high cliffs, reconstructed after the flash flood of August 2004 that destroyed much of the lower village. The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic has occupied a quayside building here since 1960, and houses one of the largest collections of occult objects in the world. The village has a pub, a handful of cafes, and a National Trust visitor centre at the harbour.

The cottage sits on Trefleur Close, a short walk from the harbour. Bossiney Cove beach is 2 miles to the south, a small cove accessible by foot via the coast path. The path in that direction passes Rocky Valley - a narrow gorge with Bronze Age maze carvings on a rock face - before reaching Tintagel, roughly 4 miles from Boscastle. Crackington Haven, another small cove, is 4.8 miles north.

Ideal for walkers using Boscastle as a base for the north Cornwall coast path between Tintagel and Bude. Not great for families prioritising beach time - the nearest sand requires a drive or a long walk. Saturday changeover.

Boscastle has a dramatic harbour and direct coast path access in both directions.
