St Minver Holiday Park

Rock village and its passenger ferry to Padstow are accessible by road in around 10 minutes.

St Minver village itself has a pub and a church. The nearby Camel Trail - the 17-mile traffic-free cycling route along the disused railway between Padstow and Bodmin - passes through Wadebridge, about 5km east. The park's indoor pool makes it a more resilient option than self-catering in the area during shoulder season, when rain can close off beach days.

Works for families with dogs who want an active base close to both surf beaches and the Camel Estuary. Less good for those who need self-contained laundry facilities or want a quiet rural retreat. Nightly pricing gives more flexibility than weekly changeovers.

Daymer Bay Beach is 4.1km away and one of the calmest beaches on the north Cornwall coast.
