Tamarisk Lodge

Tamarisk Lodge is a three-bedroom house for six at Daymer Bay, with Trebetherick as the nearest town - the clifftop hamlet where poet John Betjeman spent childhood summers and is buried in the dune-set churchyard of St Enodoc. Two kings and a twin sleep six, and three bathrooms mean nobody has to queue. Host Charlie manages the booking.

A cream Aga and farmhouse dining area shape the social space, backed by a wood burner and open fire. The enclosed garden has a patio, lawn and BBQ for outdoor meals. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, and up to two dogs can stay.

Daymer Bay is half a mile from the house, Greenaway Beach is 0.7 miles away and Polzeath Beach is 1.1 miles away - a walkable stretch rather than a beach on the doorstep. Rock and the Padstow water taxi are around 1.5 miles south, useful for a change of restaurant scene without moving the car.
