The Boat House

The Boat House is a converted 18th-century stone building in Golant, on the west bank of the tidal River Fowey estuary, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The two bedrooms, a double and a twin, are on the ground floor, along with the bathroom, which has a bath, a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC. It sleeps four.

The kitchen and the living/diner are on the first floor, and the living/diner has a woodburning stove. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a TV and WiFi. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included, and bed linen is included, but guests should bring their own towels. Views over the estuary are best from the first-floor rooms and the ground-floor bedrooms.

There is a side garden with a patio and furniture, though it is not enclosed. The house has one off-road parking space, and a small car park is about a minute's walk down the road towards the river, with a parking permit left in the property. The village pub, the Fishermans Arms, and the river are 0.1 miles away, and the shop is 2.6 miles away.

The minimum stay is 3 nights. No pets or smoking are allowed. The layout suits a couple or a family of four who are happy to climb stairs to the kitchen and living room, and is less good for guests who want cooking and living space on the same floor as the bedrooms.
