The Chestnuts

The Chestnuts is a two-storey stone cottage for five in Boscastle, less than a mile from the harbour. Its three bedrooms - a king-size en-suite, a twin and a single - are served by three bathrooms in total, so the single traveller in the group gets a private room rather than a shared bunk.

A wood burner warms the lounge and a second heats the dining room. An enclosed garden holds outdoor furniture and a summerhouse. Parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, but there is no Wi-Fi and dogs are not accepted, which rules the cottage out for pet owners.

Boscastle's harbour, cut into the cliffs in 1584, sits below the village along with the Museum of Witchcraft, the largest collection of its kind in the world. St Nectan's Glen and its 60ft waterfall are under 2 miles away, and Tintagel Castle is 3 miles along the coast. The South West Coast Path runs straight through the village. Bossiney Cove Beach, a sandy cove only reachable at low tide, is 2.2 miles away; Crackington Haven Beach is 4.7 miles and Tregardock Beach 5.5 miles.
