The Corn Store

The Corn Store is a converted two-bedroom barn near St Stephen and Coombe, close to St Austell, sleeping four with two en-suite bathrooms. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor, so no stairs stand between either room and the living space.

An enclosed garden holds outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and washing machine are included, and changeover day is Saturday. A cot and highchair are available for young children. Dogs are not accepted, so this suits guests travelling without pets. With two en-suite bedrooms, the barn works equally well for two couples sharing or a family wanting separate bathrooms.

Porthpean Beach, a sheltered sandy cove with lifeguard cover in peak season, is 6.1 miles away. Charlestown Beach is 6.4 miles and Carlyon Bay, with its long sands and championship golf course, is 6.7 miles. St Austell itself has shops and a mainline railway station, and the Coombe guide covers the wider parish around the barn.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom arrangement suits four guests comfortably, though beach trips mean a drive rather than a walk. **Best for:** two couples or a family wanting two en-suites, laundry facilities and an enclosed garden. **Less good for:** dog owners, or anyone seeking a beach within walking distance.
