The Drift

The Drift is a loft apartment for two in central St Ives, converted from a historic pilchard press. It has one bedroom and one bathroom.

The apartment overlooks a quiet courtyard just off the main street, away from the busier harbourfront lanes. One dog is allowed. Open-tread stairs lead up to the first floor. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has skylights and a 32-inch Smart TV, the bedroom has a king-size bed, and the kitchenette has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge, and the bathroom is a shower room. With one bedroom and one bathroom, it is a compact base for two guests rather than a family.

Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Harbour Beach are each 200 metres away, and Porthgwidden Beach is a further 400 metres round the headland. Porthmeor is the town's main surf beach, with rock pools and consistent Atlantic swell below the Tate St Ives gallery. Galleries, harbourside pubs and gift shops line the streets nearby, and St Ives itself supplies the wider town-centre setting.

**Best for:** A couple wanting a historic conversion, a quiet courtyard and a dog-friendly base within 400 metres of three St Ives beaches.

**Less good for:** anyone requiring confirmed step-free access.
