The Hideaway

The Hideaway is a second-floor one-bedroom apartment at Four Seasons Apartments on St Ives Road in Carbis Bay, sleeping 2 with 1 bathroom. Dogs are welcome, and parking is included on site. The setup is straightforward - Wi-Fi, a bedroom, and a bathroom - with the beach doing most of the heavy lifting.

Carbis Bay beach is around 300 metres on foot: a Blue Flag sandy cove with RNLI lifeguard cover in summer, calm enough for paddleboarding and kayaking. The beach is south-facing and sheltered, making it one of the most swimmable bays in west Cornwall.

St Ives is about 2 miles by the South West Coast Path - a well-worn walk past cliff views into the harbour - or a single stop on the St Ives Bay branch line, with the station around 500 metres from the apartment. Porthkidney Beach, a quieter dune-backed strand in the Hayle Estuary SSSI, is 1.9 miles further along the bay. The Carbis Bay Hotel spa and restaurant is a 10-minute walk up the headland.

Best for: couples or solo travellers wanting a simple, dog-friendly base close to a Blue Flag beach with quick access to St Ives. Less good for: guests who need a kitchen with dishwasher or washing machine, or those wanting a more private self-contained setting.
