Harlyn Bay Beach is 2.2km away - a wide sandy cove sheltered from the prevailing westerly swells, making it one of the more forgiving beaches for children and first-time surfers on this stretch of coast. Trevone Bay and Treyarnon Bay are both within 2.5km, adding variety without long drives between them. All three beaches have National Trust car parks and lifeguard cover during summer months.

Padstow lies under 4 miles north along the Camel Estuary. The town has a working fish quay, a daily market, and a cluster of restaurants ranging from takeaways on the harbour to more formal dining. The Camel Trail cycle route runs from Padstow to Bodmin via Wadebridge - a flat, traffic-free 18-mile route that starts a short drive from the property and is good for families on hired bikes.

This property is best for small families or couples who want beach access at multiple coves without committing to the busier Newquay area. One dog is welcome, and the enclosed garden makes that practical. Less good for larger groups - four guests is the maximum and the bunk room is sized for children rather than adults. Off-road parking for one vehicle is included.
