The Lookout Treen is a double-fronted cottage in Treen village at the southernmost tip of Cornwall, sleeping 5 across 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin, and 1 single - with 1 bathroom. The lounge has a wood-burning stove, and the enclosed rear garden has a BBQ and patio seating. A gate at the bottom of the garden opens directly onto a bluebell walk into the surrounding farmland, and the village pub is 150 metres from the front door.

Two of the best beaches on the Penwith peninsula are within walking distance: Pedn Vounder is 800 metres, a west-facing cove with turquoise water at low tide, and Porthcurno with its white shell-sand beach is 0.7 miles. Logan Rock's distinctive granite formation sits 0.5 miles along the Porthcurno coast path, where the South West Coast Path runs along the cliff edge above the sea.

The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is a mile away - open-air performances take place from May to September against a sea backdrop - and Penberth Cove is 0.7 miles. Penzance with its rail connection is about 8 miles, and Land's End is roughly 5 miles for those wanting to tick off the westernmost point of mainland England.

Ideal for families with two dogs wanting direct beach access and a pub within walking distance. Good for walking holidays using the South West Coast Path as a base. Less good for larger groups - the property holds 5 and has only 1 bathroom. Not right for guests prioritising sea views from the cottage itself, as the outlook is onto the village rather than the water.
