The Old Success Inn

The Old Success Inn dates back to the 17th century and overlooks Whitesand Bay at Sennen Cove - the most westerly beach settlement in Cornwall. The 4-star inn has a bar and restaurant, and the beach is a short walk down the slipway. Dogs are welcome, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

Rooms are bright and modern despite the building’s age, each with a TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a hairdryer. A guest lounge provides a communal space. The garden looks out toward the bay. The inn has no on-site parking, but the Sennen Cove car park is nearby (it fills quickly in summer, with an overflow lot at the top of the hill).

Land’s End is roughly a 20-minute walk along the coast path. The Minack Theatre sits 6 miles east, and St Just - the nearest town with a supermarket - is 3 miles north. Sennen Cove beach itself produces reliable Atlantic surf, with board and wetsuit hire available on the sand. The RNLI operates a lifeboat station here and provides lifeguard cover through summer.

The Old Success scores 9.1 on Booking.com from over 1,100 reviews, with particularly high marks from couples. The Round House and Capstan Gallery, a converted capstan house on the harbour slipway, shows local artists’ work a few steps from the front door.
