The Stables

The town has several pubs, a 15th-century church, and sits at the junction of the A39 and A3059. Newquay is about 15 minutes by car. Watergate Bay - 2 miles of north-facing sand with consistent surf and The Beach Hut restaurant above the shore - is 5.5 miles west. Mawgan Porth is a quieter alternative just under 6 miles away. The Screech Owl Sanctuary, housing over 60 species, is a mile south of town.

**Best for:** Couples wanting a quiet, adults-only retreat with easy access to Newquay's beaches and the north coast surfing spots. **Less good for:** Families with children, those wanting a hot tub or evening fire, or anyone needing beach walking distance.
