Porthcothan Bay is 1.2 miles away, a broad sandy beach that avoids the crowds of the larger resorts. Treyarnon Bay is 1.4 miles, with its tidal rock pool popular at low tide. Constantine Bay is 1.8 miles and one of the better surf beaches on this stretch of coast. Padstow's harbour, Rick Stein's restaurants, and the start of the Camel Trail are about 4 miles to the northeast.

Best for: couples or families with dogs wanting a practical base for multiple north Cornwall beaches without paying Padstow prices. Less good for: groups needing Wi-Fi throughout, or those hoping for a beach-walk from the front door - a short drive is required for all three nearby beaches.
