The ground floor is open-plan, anchored by an oil-fired Aga in the kitchen and a dining table for four. Both bedrooms have en-suite facilities: the ground-floor double has a roll-top bath and WC; the second bedroom has twin beds with a shower room alongside. The first-floor sitting room holds the wood-burning stove. Two distinct garden aspects - west-facing and south-east-facing - provide outdoor space across different times of day. A welcome hamper and fish pie are included on arrival. There is no wifi at the property.

For the coast, Porthleven Beach is 5.5km away - a working harbour village with a surf break on the south side of the harbour wall and several restaurants along the quayside. Praa Sands stretches for nearly 2km and lies 7.3km distant. Helston is the home of Flora Day, held each 8 May, and has a weekly market and supermarkets.

Best for couples or pairs of friends wanting a quiet rural stay with character features, outdoor space, and good coastal access. Less good for guests who rely on wifi, or families needing more than one sleeping room with separate bathroom access.
