The Tintagel headland, with its castle ruins above the sea, is reachable in under 15 minutes by car. Delabole itself is home to the oldest working slate quarry in England. The village has a pub and a few local shops.

The area sits between Port Isaac and Tintagel on the north coast - quieter than the surf beaches around Polzeath and Newquay, which are both a 30-minute drive for those who want them. Less good for those relying on public transport - a car is needed here.
