Ty Metheven is a single-storey, one-bedroom cottage on Pentalek Road in Camborne, sleeping 2 in 1 bedroom with 1 bathroom. A rear patio and shared raised lawn give outdoor space without much maintenance. The property is compact and practical - a straightforward couple's base in a working town.

The cottage comes with Wi-Fi, off-road parking, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. No hot tub, no open fire, and no BBQ. Dogs are not accepted. Saturday changeover.

Camborne sits on the main London Paddington to Penzance rail line, making it one of the more connected bases in west Cornwall. The Heartlands heritage centre at Pool, between Camborne and Redruth, is free to enter and covers the story of Cornish tin and copper mining on the site of the former South Crofty mine. Tehidy Country Park - 250 acres of managed woodland - lies to the northwest and is useful for a morning walk. The north coast is within easy driving distance: Portreath Beach is 3.7 miles, Gwithian Towans 4.7 miles, and Godrevy Beach 4.9 miles - the last two are long Atlantic-facing strands good for surfing and kite flying. St Ives is under 10 miles west by road.

Best for: couples exploring the mining coast and west Cornwall without paying St Ives or Padstow prices. Less suited to those wanting a beach-adjacent or dog-friendly property.
