Daymer Bay is 1.2 miles south along the coast path - a sheltered, dune-backed beach well suited to families. St Enodoc church, where the poet John Betjeman is buried, sits among the dunes between Daymer and Rock. Polzeath Beach is 2.2 miles with a consistent beach break for surfers. The water taxi to Padstow gives access to Rick Stein's restaurants and the harbour market without needing to drive. Port Isaac is around 8 miles north.

Best for large family groups or two households travelling together, particularly those who want a combination of surf, estuary sailing, and golf within a few miles. The price-per-night model reflects Rock's premium market and the property books up quickly in school holidays. Less good for those wanting a remote or low-key setting - Rock in summer is a busy, well-heeled village.
