Valerian

Valerian is a 2-bedroom Victorian cottage in Looe that overlooks the Looe Estuary, sleeping 4 across a king-size and a twin room. The lounge has views over the water, and a sun-facing decked area outside makes a good spot for morning coffee or evening meals when the weather cooperates. It sits roughly 600 metres from East Looe Beach and under 500 metres from the South West Coast Path.

The cottage sits on the edge of the town centre, so Looe's harbour, fish restaurants and independent shops are a short walk away. Plaidy Beach, a quieter mixed sand-and-shingle cove, is about 0.7 miles along the coast path. Polperro, one of Cornwall's most photographed harbour villages, is 5 miles west along the coastal road. For families wanting activity days, the Adrenalin Quarry adventure centre is 7.5 miles.

**Best for:** Couples or small families wanting a well-located base in south-east Cornwall; dog owners. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking. **Less good for:** Those wanting a rural retreat - this is a town-edge cottage.
