Well Court

Well Court is a two-bedroom cottage in the centre of Polruan, the village directly across the Fowey estuary from Fowey itself. It sleeps four across a double and a twin, with river views from the living area and both bedrooms. The standout feature is a private enclosed deck set high enough to give an open view over the water to Fowey and the boats moored on either side.

Inside, the open-plan living and dining area runs through to a kitchen, with a wood burner in the main room. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included. Dogs are not accepted at this cottage. The two bedrooms share a single bathroom - typical of Polruan's older stone cottages. Parking is not attached to the property; the village public car park at the edge of the village is the usual option.

Polruan has a shop, bakery, cafe and two pubs - the Russell Inn and the Lugger Inn - all within a few minutes' walk. The Polruan-to-Fowey passenger ferry crosses the estuary frequently, giving foot access to Fowey's shops, restaurants and galleries without moving the car.

The South West Coast Path runs directly past the village. The section from Polruan to Lantic Bay is one of the more dramatic stretches on the south coast, climbing quickly out of the village before dropping to a sheltered beach roughly 2 miles on.

Best for couples or small families who want village character and estuary views rather than a beach holiday. Less good for those needing guaranteed car parking outside the door or a flat walk to the sea.
