Wood Brook Cottage sits in a rural position near Praze-an-Beeble, in the farmland between Helston and Camborne. The three-bedroom property sleeps six with one bathroom and comes with a wood-fired hot tub in the enclosed garden - a practical draw in shoulder season when the coast can be cold and wet. An open fire inside and a Rangemaster oven in the kitchen add to the self-sufficiency of the setup.

Dogs are welcome. Praa Sands is 8.7km south - a long, flat sand beach with a surf school and a pub behind the dunes. Gwithian Towans is 9km north, a broad dune-backed beach at the south end of St Ives Bay with National Trust land behind it. Porthcew and Rinsey Cove is 9km, a small cove with an old engine house on the headland above. All three are within a 15-minute drive.

This cottage is best for families or groups of six, particularly those with dogs, who want a rural base with hot tub access and are happy driving to the coast. Less good for guests without a car - the rural lane location makes walking to shops or beaches impractical.
