Fowey Christmas Market spreads across the small harbour town for one weekend each December, turning four venues - Town Quay, Albert Quay, Webb Street and the Town Hall - into a single connected market with almost 100 regional traders. The 2026 dates are Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December. Where Padstow Christmas Festival is built around celebrity-chef demos, Fowey’s character is closer to a traditional country Christmas fair: independent makers, locally produced food and drink, and live music in narrow streets that already lean festive without much help.
The Friday-evening session (5.30-8.30pm) is the atmospheric one - lights on the harbour, smaller crowds, and warmer late drinks. Saturday is the busy day with the full programme open from 10am, and Sunday tails off through to 4pm. Stalls cover hand-crafted gifts, jewellery, art, festive food and drink, and stocking-filler shopping you won’t find on a high street. Father Christmas appears across the weekend, and seasonal music from local choirs and musicians moves between the venues.
Fowey itself does most of the work setting the scene: the steep streets running down to the water are decorated, the church is open for carol services, and the Bodinnick ferry runs as normal so visitors from the east bank can come over on foot. Combine the market with the Eden Project (15 minutes’ drive) for a bigger Christmas day-out.
