Marazion Beach is 200 metres from the door - a long south-facing beach with direct views across to St Michael's Mount, the tidal island reached on foot at low tide or by ferry when the causeway is covered. The Mount's National Trust-managed castle and gardens are open most days in season. Long Rock Beach is 2km east along the seafront, and Perranuthnoe - a small sandy cove popular with local surfers - is 2.7km.

The wood burner makes the apartment a practical option outside summer. Marazion stays relatively mild in autumn and spring, and the south-facing aspect means it catches afternoon light year-round. Penzance is a short drive west, with the main rail terminus, a supermarket, and the ferry departure point for the Isles of Scilly. The town also has good independent restaurants and a lively art scene.

This apartment suits couples or small families who want a sea-view base within walking distance of the beach and St Michael's Mount. The dog-friendly setup and enclosed garden make it practical for guests travelling with pets. Less good for larger groups - 4 guests is the maximum and the apartment format suits two adults with children more than two separate couples.
