Three bedrooms, one bathroom, with WiFi, parking, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The cottage is not accessible (there are steps), and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Changeover is Friday.

Madron sits roughly a mile uphill from Penzance. The village has St Maddern's Church - where locals have tied ribbons to the holy well in the woods for centuries - and the Madron Well itself is a short walk from the village. Downhill, Penzance's seafront runs along the bay: Jubilee Pool, the UK's largest seawater lido, sits at the water's edge, and the harbour ferries go to the Isles of Scilly in season. Eastern Green Beach is 2 miles. Mousehole (pronounced "Mowzle"), the small harbour village with the Ship Inn, is 3.6 miles south along the coast road. St Michael's Mount is visible across Mount's Bay on clear days.

Best for groups looking for a quiet inland base with easy reach of west Cornwall's coast and the towns of Penzance and Newlyn. Less suited to anyone needing step-free access.
