Crooklets beach - one of Bude's main surf beaches, with a lifeguarded section in season - is 500m away on foot, close enough to walk with boards. Summerleaze Beach follows at 700m, where the tidal sea pool at the base of the cliffs is free to use year-round.

The cottage is dog-friendly with a garden and off-road parking. A dishwasher, washing machine, and Wi-fi are included, which covers the practical requirements for a week-long stay with a family or group. Northcott Mouth, a wilder clifftop-backed beach with no facilities, is 0.9 miles north along the coast path.

Bude town centre sits a short walk from the property, with independent surf shops, cafes, and the canal - a flat 2-mile waterway used for kayaking and paddleboarding in summer. The South West Coast Path runs in both directions along the clifftops from the edge of town.

Best for families, surfers, and dog-owning groups who want to be genuinely close to the water without paying coastal-path-premium prices. Less good for guests wanting a rural or remote feel - this is a residential street within the town. Changeover Friday.
