The cottage sits in quiet farmland between Looe and Polperro, about 3km inland from the south Cornwall coast. Talland Bay is 4.1km - a small shingle and sand cove tucked between two headlands, with a seasonal tearoom and no large car park, which keeps numbers manageable. Lansallos Beach, a National Trust cove reached by a 15-minute walk through a wooded valley, is 4.8km.

Polperro, a compact fishing village with a working harbour and no through traffic, is around 5km east. Looe, a larger town with a wide sandy beach split by a tidal river, is under 10km. The South West Coast Path connects both from Talland Bay.

Right for couples wanting a rural, dog-friendly retreat within easy reach of the south-east Cornwall coast. Not great for guests expecting sea views or a village pub on the doorstep. Rated 4 stars from 2 reviews.
