Polperro is 4km to the east - a small fishing village built into a steep combe with a harbour, artists' studios, and a museum. The village restricts most vehicle access in summer, so walking in from the car park above is standard practice. Lostwithiel, with antique dealers and the medieval Duchy Palace, is around 15km north for a half-day trip.
