Budock

Budock was completely remodelled in 2022, keeping the traditional Cornish stone of its walls, and sits in a courtyard just outside Mawnan Smith. It is a single-storey cottage for six, with a large open-plan living area under exposed wooden beams.

That room holds the kitchen, a dining bench, a sofa with a Smart TV for streaming, and a workspace with a desk. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and there is superfast WiFi. A log burner sits alongside central heating; logs are sold direct by the owner and there is no starter pack. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

There are three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a super-king bed that can be split into twins and an en-suite shower room. The second has zip-and-link beds, and the third is a standard double. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over. Tell Tresooth Cottages the bed arrangement you want before you arrive.

Outdoors, Budock has a small patio with a bench. Guests can also use the complex's facilities: an outdoor heated pool open from Easter to the end of September, a sauna and both hot tubs, all with daily opening hours, plus a games room and a children's play area. The pool has no lifeguard, so children need a parent or an adult over 18 with them. EV charging is shared and paid for through the Monta app.

Ample off-road parking is available, and highchairs, travel cots and stair gates can be arranged for an extra charge. One well-behaved dog is welcome, with more by prior arrangement with the owner. Confirm the pet policy when booking. Smoking is not allowed, stag and hen parties need approval before booking, and the summer school holidays are booked in 7-night stays only. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 1.8 miles. It suits two families or a group of friends, and is less good for anyone wanting a private hot tub, as the hot tubs are shared.
