Newlyn

Newlyn spreads over two floors, with a slate-tiled floor in the open-plan living space and a bedroom with an en-suite on the ground level. It was completely remodelled and refurbished in June 2023 and stands at Tresooth Cottages in Mawnan Smith.

Of the three bedrooms, two have en-suite showers, one being on the ground floor, and the third can be a double or a twin. A family bathroom with bath and shower over serves the rest. Guests should confirm the bed set-up with Tresooth Cottages before arriving.

The kitchen, dining and sitting area share one space, with a Smart TV for streaming, superfast WiFi and a wood burner in addition to the gas central heating. Logs can be bought direct from the owner; there is no starter pack. The kitchen has a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are in the rent.

The patio has a bench and is not enclosed. On the site, guests share an outdoor heated swimming pool from Easter to the end of September (no lifeguard, and children need a parent or adult over 18), plus a sauna, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a games room and a children's play area. The shared EV charging points are paid for through the Monta app.

Ample off-road parking is available. Highchairs, travel cots and stair gates cost extra on request. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and more dogs need prior agreement with the owner. Smoking is not allowed. Hen and stag parties need approval before booking, and in the school summer holidays only 7-night bookings are taken. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 1.8 miles. Newlyn suits a family or friends sharing; it is less good for anyone who wants a fenced outdoor space, because the patio is open.
