Pendeen

Every bedroom at Pendeen has its own en-suite, and the whole cottage is on a single storey. It stands in the main courtyard at Tresooth Cottages, on the edge of Mawnan Smith, with the bedrooms placed on either side of the living area and room for six.

Two of the bedrooms have super-king beds that can be set as twins on request, each with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. The third is a double with an en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC. Guests should tell Tresooth Cottages the bed set-up they want before arriving.

The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with a woodburning stove, a Smart TV and WiFi. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Central heating backs up the stove; logs can be bought direct from the owner, as no starter pack is included. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are in the rent.

Behind the cottage, off the courtyard, a private enclosed patio has furniture and a hot tub. On the wider site, a shared outdoor heated swimming pool opens from Easter to the end of September, without lifeguard cover, and children must be supervised by a parent or adult over 18. Two hot tubs (indoor and outdoor), a sauna, a games room and a children's play area are also shared, and the shared EV charging points are paid for through the Monta app.

Parking off the road is ample. Highchairs, travel cots and stair gates can be added for an extra charge. One well-behaved dog is welcome, with additional dogs by prior arrangement with the owner, and smoking is not allowed. Hen and stag parties need approval before booking, and in the school summer holidays only 7-night bookings are taken. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 1.8 miles. Pendeen suits three couples or a family of six; the one-level layout means no stairs inside.
