Butlers Loft

Butlers Loft is a one-bedroom apartment on the second floor of Penarwyn House in St Blazey, near Par, sleeping two. The king-size bedroom and a bathroom with bath make it a straightforward base for a couple, and a shared enclosed garden with sun loungers provides outdoor space that a second-floor apartment wouldn't otherwise offer.

The apartment includes wifi and off-road parking. There is no dishwasher or washing machine - worth knowing before booking a longer stay. No pets are accepted.

Carlyon Bay is 2.5km to the south, a sheltered sandy beach on the south Cornwall coast. Charlestown harbour, where Georgian tall ships moor and parts of Poldark were filmed, is 3.4km away and worth a visit on any itinerary. The Eden Project biomes are roughly 10 minutes by car - making this a practical base for a day trip without paying Eden-area premiums to sleep closer. Par railway station runs the branch line north to Newquay, useful if arriving without a car. Fowey is about 8 miles south along the coast.

Best for: couples using this as a touring base for mid-Cornwall - Eden Project, Fowey, and the south coast beaches. Less good for: anyone wanting a fully self-contained property or who needs laundry facilities on site.
