Carbis Bay Beach is 0.5km downhill - a sheltered cove with RNLI lifeguard cover in summer, good for swimming and kayaking. Porthkidney Beach, a quieter dune-backed stretch, is 1.6km east. St Ives is a 25-minute walk along the coast path or one stop on the branch line from Carbis Bay halt.
