Gwithian Towans Beach - a dune-backed stretch popular with surfers and kitesurfers - is 1 mile away. Godrevy Beach, managed by the National Trust and known for its lighthouse views and seal colony, lies 1.9 miles to the northeast.

Hayle town centre is about a mile south, with a railway station on the St Ives Bay Line. The RSPB Hayle Estuary reserve sits at the edge of town, drawing wading birds year-round. St Ives is 3 miles west by road, reachable by train or the coast path.
