Cobble Retreat

Cobble Retreat is a one-bedroom cottage for two on a 20-acre estate beside Cardinham Woods, near Bodmin. Exposed stone walls and wooden beams run through the interior, with views across the Glynn Valley and Lanhydrock Estate recorded from the grounds. David and Emma manage the booking.

The king-size bedroom shares the cottage with one bathroom, and there is no washing machine, so this suits a short break rather than a long stay. A wood burner serves the open-plan lounge, while an enclosed patio holds a private hot tub and barbecue with valley views. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and an EV charger are provided, and up to two dogs are accepted.

Cardinham Woods begins under 100 metres away, with miles of waymarked walking and cycling trails through the valley. Bodmin itself is about 3 miles off, for the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, Cornwall's only standard-gauge heritage steam line, and the 890-acre Lanhydrock estate. Carlyon Bay is 9.6 miles away, Readymoney Cove is 9.7 miles and Charlestown Beach is 10.1 miles, so a beach trip here means a proper drive.
