Croft Cottage (Sleeps 6)

Three-bedroom family cottage on the edge of Goonhavern, around ten minutes by car from Perranporth on Cornwall's north coast. Sleeps six, with two bathrooms, an open fire in the living room and a kitchen kitted out for self-catering. One of five cottages (alongside Little Croft, Beech Croft, Hazel Croft and Pine Croft) sharing a four-acre plot of mature garden, fields and woodland.

The shared grounds are the draw - quiet corners to sit out, lawns for kids to run, and woodland edges for dogs to explore. Private parking and an EV charging point are on site. Wifi, washing machine, and dog-friendly throughout. Rated 9.6 from 11 guest reviews.

Goonhavern village itself has the New Inn pub and a village shop within walking distance. The headline beach is Perranporth - three miles of Atlantic sand with The Watering Hole pub built on the sand at the south end. The South West Coast Path runs north past the dunes toward Holywell Bay or south four miles to St Agnes for the Wheal Coates engine house ruins. Truro is 20 minutes south for cathedral-city shopping, Newquay 15 minutes north for Fistral Beach.

Best for: a family of six wanting countryside space and a quick drive to multiple beaches, with EV charging built in. Less good for: groups who want a private garden - the four acres are shared with four other cottages.
