Croft Elms

Two-bedroom bungalow in Trebetherick, sleeping four across two bathrooms, with a single-storey layout that eliminates stairs throughout. Croft Elms sits in the Daymer Bay area of the Camel Estuary coast, 700 metres from the beach. The Friday changeover suits the traditional weekly market, and the BBQ and patio garden extend the usable outdoor space through summer.

The sitting room has an open fire for cooler months, and the kitchen comes with a dishwasher and washing machine. Off-road parking is included. Wi-Fi runs throughout. No pets are accepted. The single-storey layout makes this more practical for older family members than the typical north Cornwall cottage, where stairs are the norm.

Three beaches are reachable on foot without a car. Daymer Bay, 700 metres away, is a sheltered estuary inlet at the mouth of the River Camel where the water stays calm enough for young or less confident swimmers. Greenaway Beach, a quieter cove north of Daymer, is 900 metres. Polzeath Beach - the main surf break on the north Camel coast, with RNLI lifeguard cover and a surf school operating from spring through autumn - is 0.9 miles. Rock village, with its sailing club and St Enodoc golf course (one of the oldest links courses in the south-west), is a short walk across the dunes. Wadebridge is around 5 miles inland for supermarkets and a hardware store.

Best for small families or couples wanting three walkable beaches. Less good for groups who need more than 4 beds, or for guests travelling with dogs.
