Driftwood

Driftwood is an all-ground-floor cottage in Polzeath village, 500 metres from Polzeath Beach. The cottage sleeps four across two double bedrooms and is fully accessible at ground level, making it one of the few beach-proximity properties in north Cornwall suited to guests with mobility needs. Dogs are welcome.

Inside, one bathroom has a bath and shower over. The kitchen has a dining area alongside it, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The sitting room has an electric fire, TV with Freeview, and WiFi. A selection of books, games, and DVDs is included. Off-road parking for two cars is outside, and the enclosed lawned garden has outdoor furniture.

Polzeath Beach is a half-mile north-facing stretch with left and right-hand surf breaks; RNLI lifeguards patrol Easter to October, and several surf schools operate from the sand. Greenaway Beach, a quieter cove with rock pools, is 1.3 miles along the coast path. The village shop and pub are both under a 5-minute walk. Rock is about 2 miles south, and the water taxi from Rock to Padstow opens up the Camel Estuary for day trips.

**Best for:** Dog owners, guests with mobility requirements, surfers, and families who want to walk directly to the beach from the cottage. **Less good for:** Guests wanting a hot tub or barbecue; groups larger than four.
