Gullsway: Kittiwake

Gullsway: Kittiwake is the ground-floor flat within the Gullsway building on Highcliffe in Polzeath, sleeping four across two bedrooms with one bathroom. Polzeath Beach is 400 metres away - wide sand with a consistent left-hand break, popular with surf schools and intermediate surfers, RNLI-lifeguarded from May to September.

The flat has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Shared garden access to the rear. The ground-floor layout suits a group arriving with boards, wetsuits, and kit that needs drying. Not dog-friendly. Changeover is Friday, so it suits a standard weekend-to-weekend booking rhythm.

Polzeath village has a surf hire and lesson operation running from the beach, a Co-op with reasonable self-catering stock, and a cluster of cafes along the main street. Greenaway Beach is 700 metres further north - quieter, no facilities, but with good low-tide sand. Daymer Bay is 1.2km south along the coast path, where the inlet water is calmer for swimming and paddleboarding and there is less surf crowd.

Best for families or groups of four whose holiday centres on Polzeath Beach - surf lessons, beach days, and a quick walk to the Co-op. Less good for anyone wanting a quiet, secluded base: Highcliffe road is busy in peak season, and the flat is 400 metres from the action, not a retreat from it.
