Deugh an Chy

Deugh an Chy is a four-bedroom cottage in Germoe, south Cornwall - room for seven across three bathrooms, with a wood burner for cooler evenings, a garden BBQ, and a dishwasher when you would rather cook in than drive out. Parking is on site, so the car stays at the cottage between trips.

Porthcew Rinsey Cove, a quieter rock-and-sand beach below the Iron Age headland of Rinsey Cliff, is 3 miles. Prussia Cove, one of the most atmospheric inlets on the Mounts Bay coast, is 3.9 miles.

Germoe sits between Porthleven and Marazion in the coastal strip between Mount's Bay and Helston. The village is small with no shop, so Helston - about 5 miles north-east - covers most food and fuel needs. Penzance and the Land's End peninsula are accessible for day trips, and St Michael's Mount is roughly 15 minutes by car.

Suits families or a group of 7 wanting a rural base within reach of Mounts Bay beaches. The BBQ and garden work well in summer; the wood burner extends the season into October. Less good for those wanting a beachside location.
