The reverse-level layout puts the main living spaces on the upper floors, facing the Atlantic and the mine-scarred cliffs along the coast. The beach runs for several hundred metres in both directions and is popular with surfers and bodyboarders given the west-facing aspect and reliable Atlantic swell. The South West Coast Path passes through the village, connecting north toward Portreath (2.9 miles) and south toward Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes (3 miles). The surrounding area has some of the most visible mining heritage in Cornwall, with ruined engine houses on the cliff line in both directions.

Best for surfers, walkers, and dog owners who want direct beach access in a historically distinctive building. Less good for guests who need Wi-Fi or want a quieter, inland setting.
