Four Owls At Rosehill Lodges

Porthtowan has a mermaid pool - a large outdoor rock pool exposed at low tide - along with a local shop and a range of places to eat. The coastal path connects to neighbouring St Agnes, with further beaches, coves and dining options. The Eden Project, Godrevy and St Ives are all within a 20-mile radius.

The lodge sits under tree canopy up a steep slope from the parking area. Both the lounge and snug have wood burning stoves and Smart TVs. The kitchen is fitted for family meals, with a ground-floor shower room and utility handy after a walk on the beach. Upstairs, three bedrooms - a king-size, a double and a twin - all have views across the surrounding woodland, served by a family bathroom.

Outside, the private garden has a patio for evenings under the stars, a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining, and a leisure swing seat. A woodland walk leads up to a seating area known as the "Loveseat", looking out to sea.

Best for families or groups of six wanting a private, dog-friendly lodge with a hot tub and sauna 450m from Porthtowan beach and its amenities. Less good for guests without a car, since the lodge sits up a steep slope away from the village centre.
