Eastern Green Beach is 0.7 miles along the seafront. Long Rock Beach is 1.4 miles, and Marazion Beach - with its views across to St Michael's Mount - is 2.6 miles east. The South West Coast Path runs past the town. Penzance has a covered Victorian market, the Penlee House gallery (free entry on Saturdays), and the Jubilee Pool tidal lido open in warmer months. The town is 9 miles from Land's End and 8 miles from St Ives.

Best for couples using public transport as a base for west Cornwall day trips, or as an overnight before catching the Scillonian. Less good for guests expecting a full self-catering setup or a quiet rural retreat - Market Jew Street is the town's main commercial road.
