Gwithian Towans beach is 2 miles north - a wide Atlantic-facing stretch of sand backed by National Trust dunes, with Godrevy Lighthouse on the headland. Porthkidney Beach, a quieter estuary-edge strand, is 2.2 miles. St Ives is under 15 minutes by car; Hayle town centre is closer still. Godrevy Beach, which sits below the lighthouse on the headland, is 2.9 miles away.

Best for couples with a dog looking for a quiet base within easy reach of the north Cornish coast. Less good for anyone wanting to walk to a village pub - the farmyard location means a car is needed for most evenings out.
